I have not understood your goal... Installing it on the server first, then copy somewhere else, and then uninstall from server...:?
What is your task? Why you need it?..

No I meant install locally first, then copy the files onto an arbitrary location (a server) and then uninstall the ...

Would it be possible to install the plugin in a central server location?

Meaning, copying the .mll file into MAYA_PLUG_IN_PATH, defining where Maya can find other files such as the octane.dll, octane.dat and octaneRenderer.xml and lastly uninstall the local copy of Octane.

According to this website, CUDA itself should be supported – although one could think nVidia should update their list of CUDA GPUs too if that is the case.
