Re: Cinema4D version 2025.2 - v1.5
A simple universal material with an octane gradient set to radial crashes octane every time.

PostFX Media AOV - how to get light beams
Hi guys,
I'm struggling to get a proper workflow using the analytic light beams. I would like to have the light beams as a sepearte pass to overlay it in AE, but when I turn on the PostFX media AOV the rays completely dissapear in the beauty pass (which would be fine) in the LV and Picture viewer ...

Re: OctaneRender® 2025.1 Beta 2
Unfortunately I can't share the scenes we are working on nor can I reproduce it or even pin point to a certain factor. Only variable that changed was octane version.
When we are at it: Is it possible that octane slows down/freezes cinema for up to 50 seconds? I experience it for the first time since ...

Re: OctaneRender® 2025.1 Beta 2 [current 2025.1]
I really hope we can go back to the stability of the latest 2024 release with 2025. I know it’s a beta but since it’s the only version supporting blackwell we have to use it in production… and it’s a pain in render queue. 2024 just chew through it like a charm… 2025 often crashes when loading a ...

Re: Cinema4D version 2025.1-Beta-2-R2 Build 0103
Thanks, I guess it will get fixed in the next build?
Another bug I just encountered: when trying to connect a raytype switch into the opacity channel of an Universal material, the node editor goes completely bonkers. displaying only the node and not connecting it when going back via "get active ...

Re: Cinema4D version 2025.1-Beta-2-R2 Build 0103
I just opened and rendered a project I did yesterday in the latest 2024 release. So far so good, but the lighting is off. It turned out, the X rotation on the hdri is offset. To make it look like it in 2024 I had to go from 0.62 to about 0.401 (eyeballing.)
Can you confirm this?

Re: Cinema4D version 2024.1.2-R4 Build 0103
Since we are in the middle of a project and will get a new workstation with a 5090 soon, will there be a production ready build of 2024? I really don't wanna switch to a beta build with a deadline coming up...
Nope, sorry, it is not possible, at least, not before 2025.1 will be stable.
ciao ...

Motion Blur increases Rendertimes per frame... still
Hi,
I'm kinda baffled this is still a problem in 2025. I have a rather simple scene with a character and a native C4D hair setup. I change the motion blur settings to transform/vertex on the hairs since it doesn't work at all with the normal transform mode. So far so good, it looks good and renders ...
