Re: Terminator problem ?!...
Hi frank,
The ray terminator problem is not a bug.
Its a natural side effect of trying to render a mesh object with a raytracing algorithm, where the mesh object has too few vertices, and the edges between connected triangles are too high angled to be interpolated propperly.

The terminator effect is render dependent.

Re: Any news about an update for the exporter ?..
Hi,
This is indeed what i suspected and is a bug in the lightwave export script.
The exporter does not write out vertex normals properly.

But is it the case with maya, XSI, etc...??vipvip wrote:galford: as explained to us Face, i'm afraid the 'terminator' effect is due to the octane GI method and not to the LW exporter.

Re: Any news about an update for the exporter ?..
Could you try the test I've attached. Add the two in layout.
Load your scene, open the octane export in layout master plugins.
Click "Prepare Scene"
Hop over to Modeler, run OctaneExporterMOD.lsc (i recommend making a hotkey or menu item for this one...)
Hope over to Layout and hit the render ...
