I think that makes sense, get a more updated version of the Octane SDK working before tackling the newer versions of Daz. Especially given their 2025 build is still an Alpha and could change significantly still.
Is there any ETA for the updated plugin for Daz 4.x? It's been a long time since we've ...

You are most welcome Toby. Please do reach out if you need anything tested at the Alpha / Beta phase. I am a programmer myself (C++) so running unstable builds to find issues is not a problem.

Hi Rajib -
Welcome back to Octane for DS :).
Issues :
Can you fix this long standing bug - If the image file path has an & character, Daz can load the image, but the Octane plugin cannot. That is actually a valid character for Windows file path.
This bug should be fixed as of 2021.1.5 - 70 ...

Re: OctaneRender 2021.1.6.83 and DAZ strand hair breaks
Hi MasterWayZ,
The material you're looking at is not for the hair, it's for a separate object the vendor included with the hair to help hold the ponytail strands together during the simulation. The opacity is set to 0 - which is why you don't see it in the DAZ viewport, if you changed it to 1 you ...

Default UVW transform is broken for procedural texture nodes
This issue is affecting certain Octane texture nodes in the plugin such as Cell Noise, Checks, Noise, Turbulence, etc.
When you drag one of these into NGE, it defaults with UVW parameters that look like they're for a 3D transform, but it's labeled as a "2D Transform" (see screenshot below with the ...

Re: Alpha from the Image Tiles node
I can confirm that the method Toby outlines does work, as that is the method I've personally been using to add layered/masked effects to skin.
I have also converted my skin shader to use ImageTiles nodes for all the primary textures. And while I am in agreement that the options for working with a ...

Re: Update on DAZStudio plugin development
So... What's the story with the Octane plugin for DAZ?
Have you not read through any of the release threads for the past couple of months...? OTOY finally hired a developer to work on the Daz plugin and in the last 3 months we've gotten more new features and fixes than in all of the past several ...

Re: A quick guide to skin mirco details
Great guide - thanks for posting this!
I was working on math-ing out the Reoriented Normal Mapping technique from the Self Shadow blog - silly me didn't even think to check that it was already built in as a blending mode on the Composite Texture Layer node. Big time saver there.

Re: OctaneRender for DAZ Studio 2021.1.5 - 72 [Test]
Also, if you could add a node name selector for the templating system, based on the DAZ current surface, that would be great. Some hair makers like OutOfTouch have a repetitive shading system for their hair, that could be easily put into a template if we could access the current surface node ...
