Re: Octane Pluggin doesn't recognize release from older computer

If you have an email address I can send the screen grab to. I don't wish to post it in a public forum.

Octane Pluggin doesn't recognize release from older computer

I just got a new computer for my rendering needs (GTX 3080…Yay!) but I am finding Octane plug-in for Rhino isn’t recognizing that I have released all working instances of Octane from my previous computer and is not working. The Stand-alone version is working fine. This is a subscription. Any ideas?

Re: Alpha Channels for individual objects?

Thanks.

I'm using Standalone.

I was aware of the 'colored' crypto matte but haven't been able to get it real crisp in comparison to a pure black and white alpha.

Alpha Channels for individual objects?

Hi....still very new to Octane and can't seem to find a solution. Maybe it's right before my eyes and I don't see it.

I'm trying to make an object have it's own alpha channel. I can use the material ID layer but I never really get a clean selection from that in Photoshop. Close but not real crisp ...

It's working in this (2.0.10.8) release now.

Post Processing in V2....

......it seems to be stuck at off. I'm unable to get it to turn on. Same file in stand-alone allows me to turn it on.

Saving to Stand-alone?

First of all....great job on porting to Rhino! Love it!
I'm sure I have done this before with 1.5 but just can't find where to go to click......how do I save out a file which I can open in the Stand-alone version? I've looked everywhere and just can't seem to find it.

TIA

Re: Saving a material?

Tried it without grouping and that worked fine.....just selected all of the nodes at once and saved. Ungrouped once on import.

Re: Saving a material?

That seemed to work fine. I needed to ungroup twice, after import, and then the material was fine.
