Aixsponza - Nike Sportswear Presto "Sneakerboot"

Shining the shoe for Nike again this time we take on ice and rain with the brand new Presto Sneakerboot. We're off our head for these outdoorsy effect overload in a collab with Nike Sportswear | Global Brand Design. Killer combination of Cinema4d & Octane & Houdini at work again.

Re: OctaneRender™ Standalone 3.00 alpha 6 [latest 3.xx]

First: Thanks for the amazing effort that went into 3.0!

However after using it on some of our workstations we've noticed a rather nasty behaviour: When using area lights or emissive materials, convergence becomes really bad -
definitely worse than in 2.25. We found out that this can be countered ...

Re: 2.24.2 TEST 4.2 --- Octane Daylight (Viewer/Dialog) broken

I think the argument that by implementing a feature in a simple yet logic (way as it is being done with Octane's daylight) alienates teams is a bit weird. Any 3rd party render engine remains an individual piece of software which will always be implemented into a host application slightly different ...

Gradient interpolation behaviour

Edit: Ok, with Raphael Rau's help I've come to accept that it's the gamma correction I was missing. Sorry to have bothered you - my bad :)

Hi guys,

I've come to notice that Octane's gradient is behaving strangely. In this example I'm driving it by a falloff set to an index value of one (so thats ...

Re: again one question about GPU expansion

Hey Mike,

can't comment on any Amfeltec specifics - Usually PCIe speeds get noticeable with bigger scenes only. So one factor to consider is your general scene size (In VRAM) - if your scenes are below 1GB in VRAM you might not notice PCIe speed differences. At least that's my experience...

Motion blur errors when using render instances

Hi Ahmet, hi guys,

we've noticed some weird behaviour when using a combination of Cloners, Random Effectors, Dynamics and Motion Blur in Octane.
See attached files. As soon as we're switching our cloner to generate render instances, the motion blur goes bonkers. Everything works fine as long as we ...

Default Material Behaviour (LET'S VOTE IT)

Hi Aoktar, hi guys,

first off: terrific work as always - it's a pleasure to see how fast things develop!

After having done some larger projects in Octane & C4D (you might have seen Seed: https://vimeo.com/134957666 ) we've stumbled over Octane material's behaviour inside C4D:

- When deactivating ...

Seed

Hey Guys,

you might have already caught a glimpse of it - here's a little gem we've been working on during the last months at Aixsponza:

Octane was heavily used amongst other engines.

Re: Support for Mograph Shaders

+1 for Mograph Shaders from my side as well.
Again - massive thanks for the amazing work you're putting into integrating Octane into C4D , aoktar!

The only grain of salt is the lack of the ability to use mograph shaders with Octane.
And to switch camera / reflection visibility for individual ...
