Hi guys
Im having trouble getting a zDepth pass out for compositing in Nuke
we'keep getting artefacts around curved edges on objects inside the scene, which don't edge to an alpha channel.
Im rendering to 32bit EXR file with no compression
Linear options in the the Octane Render Pass settings etc ...

Re: Invisible Lights still visible
Hi sorry this project is under NDA.
I will post a test scene showing the error once I get some time.
In the meantime, as I state above, the problem is solved once I uncheck the Shadow Multi Pass in the Beauty Passes under Octane Multipass tab
Best
David

Re: Invisible Lights still visible
Ok so after completely dissecting the scene and deleting all C4D display tags, neutralising all light Octane light tags to standard settings and rendering on default Pathtracing settings the error still remained.
Nor did it have anything to do with the displacement.
It turns out that the shadow ...

Re: Invisible Lights still visible
Hi thanks for getting back
yes here is a few small screengrabs of the issue. Please let me know if this gives any hints.
I moved the Ray Epsilon to 0.005 a few weeks ago as I was having issues with banding in the displacement. that was just before the release of 3.06.
Im going to check now if that ...

Invisible Lights still visible
Hi
I'm having a slight problem with Octane Area Lights , where I have unchecked Visible to Camera and dialed down general visibility to zero.
THe lights still create a slightly visible dark triangle when visible to camera. This seems to be and issue only in a quite heavy scene with a lot of area ...

Re: Object Tag v3.06
Hi thanks for getting back quickly
well, I wanted to use Octane subdivision, in hope that this would optimise the render. and since the object was static i assigned Mesh No 0, but as described this didn't work at all
I've now read up and understand that no tag means Mesh No 0 and also using C4D ...

Object Tag v3.06
Hi
I'm having some issues using (not understanding) the Object Tag.
I have a null group with static geometry in it. Its a table. the surface has displacement and the edge needs heavy subdivsion smoothing.
Im trying to apply and Object Tag to the group null with Mesh No 0, as the geometry has no ...

Asset Error (override) in TeamRender
Hi there
Im getting a strange Asset Error (override) when using TeamRender.
The same file renders fine when rendering direct to Picture Viewer.
I've checked all textures in Octane Texture Manager and everything is contained in one tex path which both computers have access too. If I continue with ...

invisible Null [myOctaneSettings]
Hello,
happy xmas!!
Is there way to avoid the invisible [myOctaneSettings] Null object (r15), or at least have it visible by default so that I can exclude it easily from my non-octane scenes?
Thanks
David
