Also, a renderer I used to like to use, called AIR, was good at outlines for illustration.

Outlines post process
Hello,
For the purposes of creating NPR architectural line drawings, I'd like an image layer containing nice clean lines around objects on a transparent background.
Perhaps a bit similar to that described here: http://blendernpr.org/edge-node-v1-2-4-july-2015/
Guessing, it would be a post-process ...

Re: OctaneRender for Rhino Beta 2.03 [TEST]
I am experienced working with Octane working in Rhino for stills, but not yet with the Bongo plugin for animations. We are looking to do some Bongo animations, and had a few queries about Octane support for Bongo. Perhaps someone with bongo|octane experience could help?

Rhino 5: Convert basic material to octance material crash
Hi there,
I'm using the Octane plugin with Rhino 5. My Rhino 5 frequently crashes when I convert materials from the basic material type to the octane material type. The crash occurs when I go to click on the little circle symbol for materials within the layers tab in Rhino. Sometimes it crashes just ...

Wish List: Curve pipeing, 2 point perspective and Alembic
Hi Paul,
The new Alembic file support in the standalone looks great! Any idea of when this will be getting worked into the rhino plugin?
Curve piping and support for rhino's two point perspective would also be great.
Thanks!

Re: How do IES lights interact with geometry?
Thanks Roeland,
I get it now.
Final queries:
The polar distribution of an IES around the principal axis is not necessarily uniform. What determines the 12oclock direction?
Would it make sense to have an option to turn off the multiplication of the IES with the cosine distribution to make it more ...

Re: How do IES lights interact with geometry?
Hi Roeland,
Thanks for your response. I'm almost getting it!
So if I am understanding correctly:
>Mesh emitters behave as if each point on its surface emits light, with a cosine distribution around the normal of the surface at that point.
>Applying an ies file changes the cosine distribution for ...

How do IES lights interact with geometry?
Can someone help me to understand a few things about IES lights?
IES lights are a text file that defines brightness at various angles relative to two axes, one being the direction the light is pointing, and the other an up-axis.
Therefore, it would make sense to locate IES lights using a transform ...
