Re: Question about multiple lights - rendertime
Thanks for the answers!
I removed the walls, and some none visible props and speed increased bigtime.
I also experienced a bit with some hdri lights, and that improved speed even more.
Hm. Consider this a beginners mistake!

Question about multiple lights - rendertime
Hello!
I'm trying to create a virtual photostudio in 3ds max, but I am experiencing pretty bad render times.
Are there any key things I am missing out on?
I have 4 graphic cards (2 gtx 690's and two gtx 780tis) for a total of 11900 Cuda cores, so there should be decent computing power available ...

Re: NEW: OTOY previews OctaneRender™ version 2.0, further advancing thescience of CG rendering
Congratulations for taking the Octane render huge steps in the right direction. I am already stunned by what Octane render can do, and after trying a few alternatives I realized that Octane was best by far. The results out of the box are second to none, and from there it’s just up to your own skills ...

Re: Time settings
Glimpse:
That would naturally be needed as well. I'm running 2 gtx 690's and two gtx 780ti's. This feature is more an assist, and not a replacement for proper cooling.
I normally start my renders before I go to bed, and hope the gpu's are alive when I wake up :)
If I could make sure they got some ...

Hi Karba!
Can't wait for any updates on the plugin! Keep up the awesome work! :)
(I'm totally new to both 3ds max and the octane render, so I apology if this function is already available through scripting etc.)
But I really miss the option to pause the render between each frame while rendering ...

Re: Face results from Daz
Playing around with HDR. Havent quite figured how to tweak the skin setting from the default ones in Daz, so I'd be happy for some help

Re: Face results from Daz
Eyereflection is rendered from surroundings. I used a hdr from a dark forrest and tweaked the eye settings based on a generous post I found in this forum. Still lots of tweaking to do, but I like it better than a passive map! :)

Re: Face results from Daz
Thanks! I keep reading all I can find!
I did a new render of a the Olympia character. Straight out of the box, but did some material adjustments to the eyes.
A bit noisy, but its only rendered for 9 minutes.
Let me know what I'm doing right or wrong
