Due to NDA restrictions I can't post it at the moment but I have found a fix for the problem.
If I apply subdivision via the standard c4d subdivission methiod and drag my object inside and then set the subdivide UV's to standard it fixes the issue.
This isn't ideal as as the uv smoothing (for octane ...

Re: SUBD tag not smoothing uv's
Hi there,
Thanks for the reply.
No it's not smoothing, that's on the shader, this is related to a geometry issue.
I have a proxy mesh that I'm applying a level 2 catmull Clarke subdiv to via the Octane object tag.
The subd is working fine and smoothing the mesh, unfortunately it's not smoothing the ...

SUBD tag not smoothing uv's
Hi there,
I've got a problem with a character that has displacement applied.
When I put the octane object tag on and activate the subdivission It smooths the geo as expected but not the uv's so I'm getting very blocky looking displacement as it's based on the proxy mesh rather than the smoothed geo ...

Re: Cinema4D version 2022.1-XB0-(R1) (Experimental) 29.12.2021
I'm having the same issues with AOV's.
As soon as it comes to saving the image Octane bombs C4D.
Which issue that's bombing something?
When saving out sequences with multipass AOV's Octane crashes.
It renders out the first frame perfectly fine but as soon as it tries to save it Octane bombs.
I ...

Many thanks

multiple objects
Hi there,
Just a quick one, and this is probably a daft question but can you import multiple objects into the same scene?
I would be great to have the ability to have basic translations as well?
cheers

Re: background image plane
Yes I definitely second that one! if we can't get the background images in we definitely need a shadow catcher in there.
For non Modo users the shadow catcher alphas out the ground plane other than the shadows leaving the object cleanly matted onto whatever you have set as your environment within ...

Re: background image plane
Bugger I assumed that was that case as I couldn't find it in any of the obvious places.
I'll have to set the entire scenes up in maya/modo then as I'll never get the cameras to match the back plate in octane.
A pain but hopefully they may add this in shortly.
Thanks for letting me know
cheers
