Re: Camera Views

I don't think there's a magic solution to this - it's probably very specific to the scene you're working on. You have to try to break it down to see where the problem lies. First, try giving all objects a standard default 3ds Max material and export like I suggested above. If it works, you can ...

Re: Camera Views

Well, what about materials then? Are you using standard materials only? Does the export work if you apply a gray standard material to the entire scene?
There are some limits with CUDA:

It depends on hardware and CUDA.
Currently you can have up to 64 image textures, 32 float textures, and 4 HDRI ...

Re: Camera Views

Did you remember to collapse the modifier stack for your objects?

Re: First attempt at a car render

Thank you very much for the pointers!
I clearly have a lot to learn here :)

I was trying to go for the studio look with my render - similar to the Mercedes, Audi or Lamborghini in the gallery. Even though I understand the importance of a proper background environment, these renders seem quite ...

Re: First attempt at a car render

Thanks :-)

You're right - it does look small. I wonder why that is - maybe the DOF is too strong. I also used a lot of vignetting because I like that effect
Are there any useful ground rules to follow with car visualizations? Or do you just keep tweaking till it looks right?

First attempt at a car render

With all the great car renders that have been posted, I thought I'd give it a try. This is not my own model - I think it's from Dosch Design. Getting the materials right is tricky so I definitely need to work on that in the future, but none the less, this is definitely the best car render I've ever ...

Re: The new anti-piracy "illusion" and simple logic

+1 for dongle!
Because I wouldn't ever connect a rendering machine to internet at all.

Well, I'm a little confused. Why would you need a machine dedicated to rendering with Octane? I thought one of the benefits was that we could add more graphics cards or use that expander thingy so we wouldn't ...

Fun with chairs

I was just playing around with some models and thought I'd share a couple of images. These aren't worthy of the gallery section, but I'm really impressed with the quality Octane is capable of and the ease of use :) The bar stools are low poly models, which were modelled by a friend of mine and ...
