I just export raw mesh without smoothing in 256*256 grid and i re-meshe it like i do on a fluid simulation, i use Frost (you could do that in many way ) with anisotropic filtering, and for the finishing, apply an optimizer to decrease the poly count :

Yep, the mesh is over 100mb, loaded perfectly !
