Yeah everything was hooked up properly, 3x 6+8 pin for the 580's. even extra molex connectors on the motherboard when using 4 gpu's (quadro for display with a 6 pin pcie cable). 2 pins on the 24 pin got burned, no overclock though...

I have three 580's and a similar thing happened to me...
The 24-pin connector of my motherboard (and also the connector on the 1200w psu) got fried. Took 5 months but got both replaced for free
Wonder if the 580 could be the culprit...

I too am very satisfied. However it used to heat up to 90 degrees when rendering and it was rather slow for the reason mentioned above. Took off the housing and installed watercooling, now it doesn't go over 40 degrees.

A later release will support exporting all those positions from a modeling application.
The coordinates in a scatter node are given as the first three rows of the transformation matrices (the fourth is always [0, 0, 0, 1]).
For instance the matrix for a 30° rotation around the Z axis looks like ...

Re: OctaneRender® 1.025 instancing preview test build
awesome news!!!
some great node you guys added!
playing with the scatter node now, but don't really grasp the idea of the transform window in the atribute editor.
what exactly is supposed to be written in there???
coordinates?
thanks, wasn't completely clear.
it says there is a 12 digit ...

I'll try out some configurations. Thanks for the advice!roeland wrote:If this happens again you can try rendering with only two cards. If it keeps running with two cards, but fails with three cards there may be a heat or power problem.

Does the crash happen if you render with only one or two GPU's? If so the cards could be overheating or not getting enough power.

Im always rendering with the 3 580's. The power the entire system then uses under load is 800w, so that's ok with a 1200w psu.
The middle card ...
