I noticed in the GTX 980/970 thread that the 980 runs memory at 6 GHz despite its 7 GHz rating. My Titan Z also does this. Memory speed during a render is 6 GHz, but in all other applications it does the rated 7 GHz when needed. Overclocking/underclocking the memory has no effect on the render ...
