You must have the same versions of Octane Blender Edition and Octane Server, 11.24 both.

Have you installed OctaneRender for Blender or OctaneVR plugin for Blender?

Take a look at this short video tutorial I've made about new features, including smoke simulation, of OctaneRender for Blender v.3. The video had been made before fire simulation support was added, so that part is not shown and explaned there.

Have you checked System Console? I think you could be out of GPU memory. Anyway worth checking console for messages.

Both - in v1. I haven't compared line to line but at the first sight they both ok.

My bad, didn't understand you firstly.

It seems, they split the old manual into two sections: v1 and v2. Don't like it either.

I can't find any settings which are present in the old manual but aren't in any part of the new one though...

Even if we don't have the manual for v.3, the manual for v.2 can be accessed from the website Screen Shot 2016-12-20 at 17.05.56.png and from Blender itself as well. Screen Shot 2016-12-20 at 17.15.24.png

And for v.3 I've made two video tutorials showing a few new features and how to use them ...

I've made a short video showing that everything works just as expected.

It seems like you were trying to rename materials from LiveDB inside LiveDB and not in your object's material settings. Renaming materials in LiveDB has never been supported by Blender plugin.

Octane has the Reflection pass but doesn't have the Glossy pass. Blender has the Reflection slot but only one. And at the same time Blender has 3 slots for Glossy (direct, inderect and colour). But Octane core doesn't have the Glossy pass (at least yet).
You have to wait until Blender developers ...
