Re: Octane Render 1.022 beta2.2 RC1 available for testing

Testing the vertex normals (from Moi and such) - it's much better now, the polygons are shaded, but there's some kind of weird "shadow" appearing under some angles when I move the camera (see pic). It happens with both daylight and environmental lighting. Test obj attached

Minor bug: the render ...

Re: thoughts on un-biased gaming engines :)

In addition to what Proupin said - I don't think there's any lack of creative output either. There are tons of books/movies/music/games/whatever being made, more than ever, and nobody has enough time to even read about it all, not to mention actually experiencing it.

Re: I am ready ..

Re: GTX470 benchmarks / comparison

Wait ... so a GTX480 is (theoretically/roughly) 3.5 times faster than my 9800GT? And GTX470 only 2.8 times faster? That doesn't seem to be particularly impressive, given how old/slow my card is and all the hype about the new fast architecture and whatnot.

Re: GTX470 benchmarks / comparison

I'm getting ~0.72 MSamples/sec rendering that scene using my 9800GT. I didn't let it render to the end 'cause I want to go to bed today :-)

What is the reason to use the whole conversion/adapter stuff and 35mm lenses?

Re: Private forum? Bad idea.

I understand the reasons for reorganizing the forums, but I agree with cecofuli that ideally everyone should be able to see everything, with only licensed customers allowed to post in the licensed sections. This would allow the support team to handle posts with the correct priority AND allow ...
