Re: Enable caustics for the daylight system?
I did already try that, but it works only with mesh lights for me so far. I'm not at home right now, will post an example tomorrow.

is there any way to enable caustics/refractions for the daylight system?

Re: 2.0 and Blender
Put a bump map into the displacement pin on the materal node, i'm not sure if that's what you're talking about, but it sounds like that. (Cycles only)

Re: Close object disappears in orthographic view
Oh, i assumed he meant the "camera"-camera. For me that setting is gray when watching through the camera and has no influence.

Re: Close object disappears in orthographic view
In the camera panel, there's a setting for the clipping (min and max), try changing the min value. But in orthographic mode the camera distance shouldn't matter, so just move the camera a little more away from the object.

Both downloadable files are autoinstallers. Just install them. (You don't need the actual standalone for blender-octane to run.)

Re: Daylight Animation
You should be able to keyframe any value. To create a keyframe for a value just hold your mouse over it and press "i".

Re: Blender newbie goes Octane plugin
1. At least some of the information is updated to the renderer when you leave edit mode. The live mode is more for setting up the materials, not really for geometry, so it's probably intended. But it's already known.

Re: multi gpu settings
It may be just a stub, as the plugin is still in beta. (There are several settings which aren't functional, yet.)
If you want to see if (or which) the gpus are working you should try it in the standalone renderer. There are some sample scenes you could just load.
