Not sure with the recent version of DAZ plug in and Octane, but in the version I'm still using (v4.04 of Octane and corresponding DAZ Plugin) the RGBA image nodes are the only way to deal with such texture files (PNGs with Alpha).
And at least in the old version I'm using I noticed bugs when it ...

Re: Update on DAZStudio plugin development
So... What's the story with the Octane plugin for DAZ?
Have you not read through any of the release threads for the past couple of months...? OTOY finally hired a developer to work on the Daz plugin and in the last 3 months we've gotten more new features and fixes than in all of the past several ...

I'm asking because yesterday I found out that the legacy Version 4 of the plugin (the last one available before the switch to the subscription based licensing model) no longer works with DAZ Studio 4.20, so I'm stuck with DAZ 4.15 which seems ...

Re: No motion blur? .. Still?
Yes I also have the Version 4 Octane on my other machine, though I did purchase a seperate license for my new render rig, hoping to take advantage of the RTX features and all that. Not sure if V4 supports RTX? .. I don't think it does.

Re: No motion blur? .. Still?
The only motion blur that works and can be rendered is camera motion blur. So if you have a camera in motion, and camera motion blur enabled, then it renders correctly.
However, object motion blur (stationary camera, but moving objects) does not work...
Yeah... after all those years... That is why ...

Re: (help needed) Wet fabric on body
i dont even know how to give skin a real sweaty look beside the overall specular option :D maybe you have any ideas on that too? :)
Hmm... for this I probably would not go down the path you are suggesting. Instead I would probably go with a geo-shell and basically a standalone layer of moisture ...

Re: (help needed) Wet fabric on body
Yes! This is exactly what I'm looking for. Can you share this shader, or give a tip how to get same result?
Sorry for late reply. I'm not sure how to share the Octane material from DAZ in some usable way. However, have a look at the material called "paraffin" in the Live DB. It will give you a ...

Re: (help needed) Wet fabric on body
Speaking from experience as I did do few experiments in past with similar materials, I'd say that it could be possible.
I'd post a finished render to illustrate... however, as the cloth fabric has the characteristics you are describing (the closer to the body it covers, the more transparent it is ...

Re: Seriously disappointed in progress of the Daz plugin
Yeah... The lack of progress of the DAZ plugin (pretty much no progress at all when it comes to implementing new Octane features and achieving parity with what DAZ allows us to do and what the Octane Plugin can actually render) is the main reason for me why I didn't upgrade to the new subscription ...
