I have a GTX 690 and it can't handle scenes over 3.000.000 poly : ))
I don't think its slow as your worry man
This scene use about 2,1Gb of GPU memory.
Its long time for me 12hours. Maybe next Titans soon.

Hello,
I use Gtx Titan for render. / Render time 12hours / Resolution 4961x3508
Path tracing maxsamples 7070 / samp/sec about 2,8M
Question : Is it Ok or too slow ?
Mini cooper model (30 000 000 polygons) In material editor I have about 30 materials and only one small bump map (side of tire)

Hello, Im working on project about cars too and Im using Octane for Max + Craft Direcor.
But I haven´t strong computer enough to make large resolution so we decidet to do quantity ,no quality yet.
But soon it will looks like this

Is possible render only part of render window In 3Ds max with Octane plugin ?
For example : I have rendered car but some parts like lighs are wrong ? (see picture)
Looks like impossible.
I must to do new render of all picture ?

This is what I need to know :
"with 780 You'll be limited to 3gb.. as this limit depens on card having lowest amount of vram"
Btw I use options like you said. But sometimes I can use them together
So next gpu again with 6GB

when Im Using for render this two cards .Octane use 1Gb memory of 560ti
If I will change 560ti 1GB for gtx780 3GB
Will octane use 6gb of Titane memory or 3GB of gtx780?
What´s the best way ?

Hi man, in 3Ds max it is Easy, you only need to check matte for diffuse material.
But do not forget increase transmission min. : 0,01 (0.0 not work)
