Hi, if I buy blender plugin, will I need to upgrade it, when I upgrade standalone to Octane 2.0?

Re: Good motherboard for maximum GPU
My GPU voltage is set to max and I also force its constant voltage (no failures, better stability). GPU Power is also set to max but Octane uses only about 70% of GPU max power. Both GPUs are watercooled so temps are low, about 40C.

Re: Good motherboard for maximum GPU
Raising voltage to the max is safe because I'm using overclocking utillity which came with the card.
As far as I've seen overclocking utilities from manufacturer or not state that using them may cause damage and their use is not covered by warranty.

Re: Good motherboard for maximum GPU
My system could detect the second card connected via PCI extender but the card wouldn't work because windows reported there is a problem with it so Octane didn't pick it up. This is what I did:
boot windows
go to device manager ( there should be your card but with a yellow warning sign over it ...

Re: Good motherboard for maximum GPU
but it only few month old before it broken
Strange - though I didn't had to use them I have a couple around and they don't look like breaking. What exactly is wrong with them?
Also I've seen a bit altered variation on e-bay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/PCI-E-16X-Riser-Cable-with-High-Quality-Flex ...

Didn't test, but it's possible it could work even with 1x, though if I remember right, some pins should be shorted for that.

Doubt it's a fast thing to implement.larmannjan wrote:any news at all?
Still, curious if it will be a universal plug-in or a custom build.

Re: camera flash
I don't understand.
Where's the problem to make simulate a flash? Place a flash bulb over the camera, that's it.
It's not that it's so often used feature that it would require automation of any sort.
And not hard to do either.

Re: Good motherboard for maximum GPU
Also there has to be a powerful PSU. Or two of them.
I wanted to push GPU count to max. I even got adapters to use 1x slots and those close to each other to make it to 7GPUs, but as I got to three I was satisfied with performance enough and gtx580 3gb went out of stock at the same moment, so I ...

Re: Good motherboard for maximum GPU
Look for a spacious case!
I had to put PSU outside the case to fit 3 GPUs.
