Hi, I'm trying to render an animation but for some unknown reason different bits of clothing (halter neck top or jumper) disappear from the female model and sometimes I get strange stripes across the image. I've uploaded three images - two that have mistakes and one that's correct.
I'm rendering using 4 x GTX 760 4GB VRAM, DS 4.6 with the latest version of DAZ Octane plugin on Win 8 Pro, 32GB RAM in case that's relevant. This system is not overclocked at all. The project is 1490MB in size. I've tried removing one card and rendering with three but the same problem occurs. Out of a 300 frame animation over 100 frames rendered incorrectly. I don't have this problem rendering single frames/images.
My other PC has one GTX 780 and it renders all the animated scene frames correctly. This seems to be a problem rendering animation using multiple cards with OR DAZ plugin.
I'd really like to find a solution somehow.

A quick update - the same problem is occurring on my other PC with Win 7 Pro, 16GB RAM, 1 x GTX 780. Latest versions of DS and Octane plugin installed. Latest Win 7 and NVidia updates installed. I'm rendering the same project on each PC.
As this problem is happening on two different systems rendering the same project I think there is either something wrong with the project, Octane plugin or NVidia's drivers. I'm not sure which one?
One other thing, when I reduce the size of the project by switching off props the problem seems to go away. I reduced the VRAM load by 50% from 1500 to 800. But with 3GB of VRAM this shouldn't be necessary. I don't think the plugin is able to cope yet with projects that use over half the VRAM.

might be because of smoothing applied? there is a checkbox in the preferences called "Wait for non Plugin related background tasks" - it tells the plugin to wait for daz studio while it is doing unknown things*) until the geometry is updated.
*) the plugin doesn't get any information about what daz studio is doing in the background, apart from that there is something going on. this "something" are usually smoothing iterations (but can be anything else)...

Thanks for your reply. I'll test this out to see if it solves the problem. The bad frame renders are pretty random which is a real problem to spot in an animation with many frames.t_3 wrote:might be because of smoothing applied? there is a checkbox in the preferences called "Wait for non Plugin related background tasks" - it tells the plugin to wait for daz studio while it is doing unknown things*) until the geometry is updated.

Is it possible to run a script for Octane that would allow me to enter a list of random frame numbers for re-rendering? The animation page only allows a sequential range of frames to be rendered at once.
