OTOY is proud to announce the availability of the first Demo of OctaneRender for Poser v1.0 beta.
The world's fastest and most feature rich unbiased render engine that integrates completely into Smith Micro Poser.

POSER VERSION REQUIREMENTS

This demo requires Poser 9 or Poser Pro 2012, 32 and 64bit, on Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8. You must have Poser Service
Release 3.1 installed. Poser 8/2010 and earlier are not supported.


Notes regarding features/functionality

OctaneRender™ for Poser implements almost the full functionality of OctaneRender™ standalone inside Poser.
Materials from the Live DB are not available.

The demo supports Tesla (GT2xx architecture), Fermi and Kepler GPUs, (GeForce, Quadro and Tesla lines).
Note that the plug-in demo version does not require the standalone version to be installed, however the licensed
version requires both an OctaneRender Standalone license and a OctaneRender for Poser license.


DEMO LIMITATIONS

- The resolution is limited to 1000x600.
- Water marks (Octane logo + stripes).
- Cannot save images
- No access to the LiveDB
- Cannot save materials or material collections
- Cannot save an Octane Material to a Poser Material
- Does not have the texture compression script

HOW TO PURCHASE LICENSES

A license for the plugin product alone will cost 99 € while in the initial open beta phase, and 199 € when the final version of the plugin
is released.

The plugin will require the user to have a valid OctaneRender™ Standalone version installed and activated. If you don't have an OctaneRender
license yet, you can purchase both the plugin and the engine/standalone licenses as one bundle for 279 euros.

You can also purchase a 3, 5 or 10 pack of OctaneRender® for Poser licenses, just like OctaneRender Standalone Edition packs.


INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Please follow the installation instructions in the manual (included in the ZIP file). Remember to copy the octane.dat file into the
folder that contains PoserPro.exe/Poser.exe (as per installation instructions).

If you get a message when running the plugin from the Render menu "Could not load Octane libraries", this is either due to not
installing the plugin correctly (refer to the manual), or your Nvidia drivers are out of date.


NVIDIA DRIVER REQUIREMENTS

This version requires video driver 301.42 or higher.

Wow, guys, it look fantastic, but $373 for a licensed version to a program that only costs $299. I think that's even beyond my craziness.

OctaneRender for Poser comes out of beta on the 15th July, so if you want the cheaper beta pricing, get in before then. The Mac version is also now fully supported.

I have to say that this demo version looks absolutely amazing. The level of detail is quite incredible. This is something that could only be dreamed about years back when technology wasn't quite as advanced. Keep it up guys.
