Blender Obj export script

Hi,

I made some changes in the Blender's Wevefront obj export script to fix some issues and add some maps in the mtl file. I made this quickly to satisfy my needs, feel free to change it or to suggest changes, however I won't do much on that, so anybody could change it. It works with Blender 2.49.
  • . Peviously the diffuse map assigned to the UV layout in the image editor was exported (map_kd entry), now it's the image assigned via the col mapping.
. Bump map is exported via map_bump entry in the mtl
. Alpha map is exported via map_d entry in the mtl (assigned as opacity map in Octane)
. Some minor changes, I took some liberty in the interpretation of the other values based on my needs, hope they also meet yours.

Thanks a lot Enrico. Downloading and testing right away :D

ps. I had no idea you were also involved with python programming! Master renderer and master programmer, noooooooooooooooooooooooooooh! I'm doomed with so much learning to do ahead of me! lol :D

ps2. This for 2.49 or 2.5? EDIT: aaaah, nevermind, jus tried it and it's 2.49. Get ready for a 2.5 request from ppl ;)

When will an exporter for blender animations become available?

hi,

this is a very old post that is outdated many months.
I'd recommend not using this exporter.

commercial users have access to a complete blender 2.4x plugin that does animation, relinking, material export, and animation of various parameters of the camera and daylight.

We will package the plugins with the demo releases once they are all fully aligned and documented.

Yours,
Radiance

I've looked for such a plug-in but i can't seem to find it. I'm thoroughly fed up searching, having looked high and low. Any direct links to the software?
