Color Space Issues

I recently started using Octane for Maya and I am having a hard time getting the colors to work properly. I have my Maya color space set to sRGB, however when I change the color in a material node or use an octane RGB plugged in to the diffuse/albedo the RGB color is correct but the sample and render color is wrong. The only work around I have found for this is to apply a color correction with a gamma set to 2.2 after my rgb node. I would like to be able to change the color directly in the octane material node rather than creating an rgb node and a color correction node for each attribute I need a color on. How can I change the settings so I don't have to manually change each color with a gamma of 2.2

It maybe the native Maya color management rendering the swatch incorrectly.
Please try disable from the Preference>Color management

Thanks for the reply. I did try disabling the color space management completely and I got the same result. Octane color sample is still wrong.

Yeah, the swatch is rendering a bit lighter. We have created a ticket for our dev to investigate.

I did another test and it still doesn't seem to be working correctly. I am using a new color to illustrate it better. (hex code: #3001af) In a sRGB workspace this hexcode looks like a very royal blue.
When I use this hex code in Maya with the color management turned off, the color looks correct in the color picker but not in the swatch or the render. With color management on, but the gamma transform in the viewport turned off, the color picker and the render do match but it is still the wrong color. The only way I am able to see the royal blue color is with a rgbspectrum connected to a color correction node with a gamma of 2.2 and the color management turned off (or the gamma transform in the viewport turned off)

I tried to record a gif to help illustrate

In your render Octane is using the sRGB which is why the render result are different.

Please use the Octane Imager node for Octane engine color management.
Here is the result once we set the response to Linear/Off. Attaching the Maya file too.

Thanks for the quick replies. That did work, however it changes my lighting completely. I have experience with Octane in Modo and Cinema4D and I am trying to match the lighting in my Maya scene to the same scene I have in Modo. Before I set maya to linear in the imager everything besides the diffuse colors looked proper and matched my Modo scene. When changing the imager to Linear the blue color looks better but the scene look is completely different. I tried changing light values to match the scene again but I cannot. Another problem am I running into is that the gamma control on a octane image texture node does not work.

Maybe include the scene for us to investigate!

As you know Octane is an Unbiased renderer, the lighting result may vary based on your scene scale.
OctaneRender for Maya works on 1 meter like Standalone and you can scale down via the Octane>Additional rollout>scale.

Regarding the gamma control, please add the `OctaneOcioColorSpace` node and set it to `Linear sRGB + legacy gamma` to adjust the Gamma.

Sorry for the late reply. I am not able to share the full scene that I am working on due to an NDA but here is a simplified version that illustrates the difficulties I am having with the colorspace and render view. The color management is off, and the imager mapping is set to sRGB because that's what my modo/octane scene is exporting and I am matching the scene to that. The RGB color connected to the diffuse channel is suppose to be a royal blue, but in the "sample" you see it is purple. In photoshop and other programs, the same hex code (#4e00ff) is also a royal blue not a purple. When viewed in the render, it is that purple color not the royal blue that I need. The only way to get that blue color is by adding a color correction node after and changing the gamma to 2.2, or like you mentioned before, changing the imager mapping to Linear but my HDRI is then too contrasted and the lighting that was looking perfect in sRGB is now harsh and blown out.
I included my scene so you can see what is going on, as well as a screenshot of my material, render and settings

Thank you BLisowski, for the scene. This one works great.
We have fixed this issue for the next build.
For now, please feel free to use the Color Correction node as a workaround.
