is in Octane Blender a reliable status of VRam usage available?

Hi There,
this status bar does not seam to give prober stats.
Every time I open the exact same scene, different values are show here.
With absolutely no objects and textures it says, that 8.4 gig are used:
Is there an other option to get reliable results in Blender Octane?
thanks
Mike

The Memory and VRAM values shown in Blender's status bar are general Blender and GPU statistics. They are not Octane's render memory statistics, and they may also include memory used by the operating system, GPU drivers, and other apps running on your system. To check Octane's actual memory usage, please refer to the render statistics shown in the top left corner of the Octane Live View while the preview is running. For a more complete overview, you can also open the Octane Device Manager, which shows VRAM and out-of-core memory usage as well.

Hi Lino,
jumping to this post now
You mean this status, right?
I don`t really understand.
Is it like C4D? First is used, second is available and third is total amout?
But with 4090 I should have about 20 available for Blender/Rendering
regards
Mike

There's always a part of the memory used by Octane as the render is initialized (this is the situation with an empty scene). Also the operating system and anything related (Fireforx, Explorer and so on) are using your GPU resources.

Hi Lino,
yes I know that.
But for VRam usage its that "Device Preferences" I have to look at , right?
Thats the only way to get reliable infos?
A bit annoying to always open that window and close it again all the time.
regards
Mike

The statistics shown at the bottom are Blender’s own memory statistics, not a detailed breakdown of Octane’s VRAM usage.
For Octane, the Device Manager is the best reference, since it shows exactly what is using the GPU memory—geometry, textures, compositor, denoiser, runtime data, and so on.
