Network Rendering slave GPU time out

When I run the run_installed_daemon.bat network slave (after installing the _instal_daemon)
I get :
"detected that render node is hanging during startup -> render stopped"
(The slave is a laptop running an occulink GPU that renders fine on the standalone and has given me no errors, and the gpu shows up fine in the device manager etc.
I went into the regedit and changed the graphicsDrivers TdrDelay to 240 (which is 4 minutes)
When running the run_installed_daemon.bat it takes about 2 muntes or less for the gpu to show up, so giving it 4 minutes should be plenty.
Does the bat file read the TdrDelay regedit info? .... as it gives its "detected that render node is hanging during startup -> render stopped" before a minute is up.
Firewalls have been opened for all apps and servers (though I do not think that's it because it quits before finding the gpu
Any ideas?
Peter
2026.2 for both master and slave just in case you are wondering
