Octane Live Viewer Unusable with Characters and Hair

Octane seems to be going backwards in terms of usability. Especially with my workflow. Just using the default rigged male C4D character and firing the live viewer is a headache. I'm not sure if it's just my computer or everyone. I first noticed issue in a old scene (from last year) on a rigged character with hair. Most of the time the hair objects will not load at all in the viewer. Any change with hang up the live viewer for 30 seconds.
Responsiveness with hair has never been Octane's strongpoint. It even inspired my last computer build because I work with rigged characters and hair so often. I'm starting to think it's not my hardware, because now just rigged characters have no responsiveness and I'm on my second build.
Is the rigged c4d male running snappy or slow for everyone else in the live viewer?
Are everyone else's hair objects only randomly working? and hanging up the live viewer?

The hair issues seem to be tied to using texture maps in the c4d hair material. I've tried different file types besides .tif.
These same maps used to work fine. I realize C4D has updated as well, so that may not be all on Octane, but the responsiveness is just horrible either way.

Could you share your scene with us?

Have you tried opening up the Rigged Male Character in Cinema 4d, deleting the textures, and starting the Octane live viewer?

Hey Chris. Here is a scene where I stripped pretty much everything but the basic Cinema4d quadruped character rig out. Octane is still very laggy when using the middle mouse to scroll in and out despite the live viewer having hardly anything to render. A few hairs on a geo will 10x this lag.
Importing the rigged male character (in the image I shared before) and starting Octane Live Viewer locks up Cinema4d for minutes. This can't just be on my end right? I don't use that male character, but it just goes to show that Octane is doing some weird stuff right now that is really slowing me down.. This doesn't seem to be a problem on my simple custom character rigs at all, just the built in Cinema4d rigs.

Hi,
Thanks for sharing the scene.
The devs have found and fixed the issue, and the fix will be part of next update.
ciao,
Beppe
