I'm trying to recreate the Diffraction Grating in Octane from https://everdrone.pages.dev/blog/diffraction-grating-octane#silicon-material
They use two objects there: one with a Metallic material and another with a Specular material. It works that way.
But shouldn’t the Octane Layered Material be able to do the same thing with just one object instead of two? For some reason, I can’t get it to work.

Does dispersion not work in the Octane Layered Material?

I don’t think I fully understand the issue with the two variants. Could you help me understand it better?
I didn’t quite understand if you’re asking about something like the use of material layers.
