PSD files have white alpha mask applied (v1.7.0 and above)

Hi,
I'm experiecing what i assume to be a bug with Octane in C4D.
When rendering out any files as a PSD, all custom aov layers seem to have an alpha mask applied to them.
This doesnt affect the current version ive stuck to of 1.6.1 but does impact 1.7.0, 1.7.1 and 1.7.2 (I have tried them all with the same file attached)
---
I followed the release discussions and there was a mention of something similar here: viewtopic.php?p=440658#p440658 This was on version 1.7.0 where the issue first occured.
It was labelled as a bug in this topic and a change note with 1.7.1 flagged “Fixed PSD alpha export issues with picture viewer" however the issue has still persisted past 1.7.0 into 1.7.1 and 1.7.2

A. Windows 11
B. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090
C. 64GB
D. 581.57 [r581_55]
F. OctaneRender for Cinema 4D 2025.3-1.7.0 built for:20250
G. C4D:2025303
H.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Copy an object into a default c4d scene
2. add an Octane Object tag
3. Set Octane Object tag → Object layer → custom aov to x (where x is any value)
4. Add aov layers and set subtype to the same x value set above
5. render to picture viewer
