[SOLVED] Mac M1: There is no GPU device which is selected...

Hi,

Here are my specs:
Apple M1 Max
Mac OS: Tahoe 26.0.1
Cinema 4D 2026.0.0
Octane Render Plugin: 2025.2.3-v1.7.1

I'm having trouble with Octane and get this error when starting to render. The Cinema 4D scene is empty.

Then I get another error message, and Cinema crashes to the Desktop.

When opening the Octane Settings, the chip is by default unchecked. And if I try to check it, it doesn't change anything, and the critical error remains.

I tried logging the plugin out. But this doesn't work either, as the button is broken and doesn't do anything when pressed.

Other things I've tried without success:
- Clean reinstallation of Maxon App, Cinema 4D 2026, and Octane plugin.
- installed older version Cinema 4D 2024

Any ideas what to do?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

The issue is macOS 26 Tahoe.

We have just released the first OctaneRender Standalone version 2025.4 supporting new macOS Tahoe:
https://render.otoy.com/octane_eula_only_downloads/000_obd/265/e5752eac/fa/0e/bb/38/Octane_X_Prime_2025_4_macos.dmg

New plugin based on 2025.4 SDK is going to arrive very shortly.

Please keep an eye on this section of the OTOY forum:

viewforum.php?f=85

When ready, it will be published on top.

ciao,
Beppe

This issue is now resolved.

Updating to Octane 2025.4-v1.7.2 fixed the issue for me.

Thanks to the devs at Otoy! :)
