bought Octane Render, according to the data on the site
I get error! Does Octane work on a MacBook at all if there is no video card?

Hi, I think you should use the Octane X (MacOS Metal), be sure the version you download doesn't include the word CUDA.

please install the latest stable version:

Note that you always need to remove from the OctaneRender folder, all the unnecessary c4doctane-R2X.xdlib files not related with R2X specific version, and leave only one c4doctane-R2X.xdlib file in ../plugins/OctaneRender directory.

OctaneX was the old name of OctaneRender for old intel/AMD macs.

You own a new Apple Silicon M4 mac, so no needs for old outdated OctaneX version, you can install the latest stable version as for CUDA PC.

Please also make sure to have disabled the "Open using Rosetta" option in the Info panel of the Cinema 4D.app, or plugin cannot be loaded: And to have updated Maxon C4D to a recent build, for a correct installation of OctaneRender plugin for macOS Sequoia, firstly you need to update your Maxon C4D to a recent build, (R25.117, R26.107, 2023.2, 2024.4, 2025.0.1), or plugin cannot be correctly loaded.
