Rendering native hair and fur

Hi,
Does octane support 3ds max hair and fur? It renders as tubes and it is slow. I tried arnold and it renders perfect hair and quick.
IF not can you add hair and fur support? It feels that octane treats each hair as a copy and not as an instance. Eval times are high, vram usage is very high.
