Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on an animated scene in Octane with Cinema 4D 2025, and I’d like to render it in Unreal Engine 5.4. However, I’m running into several issues:

Datasmith > Direct Link Import: Everything imports fine, but no materials are converted.
Datasmith > File Import: Same issue with no material conversion.
Export > Animated Package for Test, then Import ORBX Scene (Convert): Animation is not imported.
Export > Animated Package for Test, then Import ORBX Scene as Proxy: Unfortunately, the Octane viewport in UE 5.4 is broken; I can’t preview the proxy as the viewport won’t display it.

If anyone has insights or solutions to these problems, your help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Atm only mesh animation is supported as part of geometry cache

Could you share me the orbx file so i can test the ORBX proxy?

The only method at the moment would be doing both and reattaching the materials.

Thank you for the helpful suggestions! I’ll try reattaching the materials and share the ORBX file for further testing.
