Otoy® is proud to announce the availability of a new OctaneRender™ for Maya®
The world's fastest and most feature-rich unbiased render engine that integrates completely into Autodesk® Maya®.

Maya® Version Requirements

This release will work with Maya® Versions 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 64-bit on Windows and Linux systems. Maya 2024 and 2025 on macOS (ARM only).

Changelog and the installers for Octane Standalone are here:
OctaneRender Standalone

Important: if using macOS, we strongly recommend that you update to version 13.3. Prior to 13.3, there is an OS related issue that causes a render failure consistently if you render for long periods of time.

Changes since version 23.19:
  • Reworked the tiles-autofill functionality in Octane tiles-texture. Now there are two different file-naming types accepted, which can be chosen before auto-filling: Maya/Mari and Octane. If "Octane" is selected, it will fill with the same algorithm as in Standalone. The desired grid size must be set before auto-filling too.

Noticed now in the color correct node Brightness goes to 100 instead of 1 and saturation goes to 100 instead of 1 by default.

I am experiencing random crashes, Octane IPR gets stuck and crashes Maya. Should we expect some new version?

Hi Braca,

Thank you so much for your patience.
Would you please share the Maya dump files and the steps to replicate the crash?

Yeah, we will get the 2024.1.1 OFM plugin out asap!!

Cheers

Thanks for all the hard work on the plugin.

Am I missing something with the way gradients work with Octane and Maya (on MacOS)? I've always had problems with gradients losing color entries, or not calculating until the entries are jiggled. This has been happening in every release since I've been using Octane v3. I just did a test with 2024.1-23.21 and it immediately presented the error. I made a ramp with a few entries and when I reopened the scene the Position 0.0 entry was deleted when the file is reopened.

I seem to be able to work around the entry deletion by not setting any color to the 0.0 position, but the much larger issue is that gradients randomly don't calculate until the entries are giggled.

I really love how responsive and seamless the Maya plugin is, but this bug has been so annoying. Has anyone else had this issue?

Thanks again,
Dave

Hi Dave, Thank you so much for the post..
We are unable to replicate this on our side (tested on both Maya 2024 and 2025).
Would you please DM me a sample scene just in case if I am missing any steps?

Cheers

Sure, whenever Maya crashes please feel free to share the Maya dump file saved under Appdata/local/temp..
Also, I find OFM runs smoothly if we set the Swatch Render on Demand and setting Swatch quality and Texture quality to 0.
I also disable the Hypershade swatch when working with huge scenes.

cheers
