Scatter on Surface issues

I tried to experiment with Scatter on Surface a bit. It crashes a lot when I adjust it while preview render is one - the server does (Blender keeps running). Crashes happen rather randomly but pretty much several times per minute. So it's very hard to use.

But here is one case that crashes the server which can be reproduced. When I put a Range node after a Noise node and set the Output Minumum value to a negative one, the server crashes immediately. Same for Output Maximum - a negative value crashes the server as well.
