I've create an addon that let's you solo nodes with a "Texture Out" output socket. I'm not a pro programmer and I used the Serpens addon to create the code. So there might be a few hickups, but overall it works well for me.

*) Select the node you want to solo.
*) You can either right-click and choose "Solo Mode" from the bottom of the context menu. Or you can hit CTRL-ALT-S. You can also use CRTL-ALT-LMB.
*) Do get back just repeat the action. Either choose "Solo Mode" from the context menu or use the hotkey/mouse.

Let me know if there are any issue. I will try to take care of them - if my skills suffice.

I've updated the addon. It can now be used from within groups as well.

Awesome! Would it be possible to add this to the plugin? It's a very handy feature and I use it all the time in Octane for Modo
