Proxy Material Input is unreliable in animations

Hey there,
i love to use proxys in my projects and thought i give the material input feature a try. This works great, but does not work reliable when rendering animations. Sometimes the material stopped working from the beginning, sometimes it stopped working suddenly in the middle of the animation.
Maybe this can be improved (since its awesome!)
All the best,
Leonard

i think i found the issue. I duplicated the proxy meshes and changed the orbx files. I recreated them from scratch and gave the inputs different names and now it seems to work.

No, that was luck i guess. I rendered a few more animations and it does not work reliably.
Edit: Now it stopped working completely

Hi. Can you please send me a .LXO and .ORBX which is not working?

Hi Paul,
here is a
folder with some samples:
Rendering Still images from modo work. Rendering animations does not. Exporting the Animation to orbx and render in standalone works.
All the best,
Leonard

Thanks Leonard
I have found the issue and will send you a test build to confirm the issue is resolved in the next day or two.
Thanks
Paul

The following version will hopefully resolve your problem. There was quite a lot of work to put all the changes in place, so please let me know if you find any issues.
2022.1.2.192
- Compiled with Octane 2022.1.2
- Fixed issue were Mesh Lights were not exporting to ORBX correctly
- When saving a render as PNG, if sRGB is selected as the Color Space, then Pre-Multiplied Alpha can now still be specified. To do this, select EXR, then tick Pre-Multiplied Alpha, then select PNG. NOTE: According to the PNG spec, PNG files always use non-premultiplied alpha, so save with pre-multiplied alpha at your own risk!
- Added Cast Photons to the Octane Enivornments as per Octane 2022.1.2
- When Solo Node is enabled, the Imager->Exposure is set to 1
- Changed the Mesh->Reload Mesh Each Frame property so it is read at each frame in an animation rather than only at frame 0. So you should now be able to animation this property
- Fixed issue where volumetric spots had the Object Layer->Shadow Visibility set disabled
- Removed the octane.createUdim command, as UDIM tile support was added in 2022.1.1.191
- Fixed issue with Proxy Mesh items with schematic materials connected. Proxy materials should now render correctly when rendering an animation, and the materials themselves can be animated

Hi Paul,
I'm on my next project which relies on proxys and the material input and all works great, except proxys do not render anymore using the render animation command. 190 works fine, but newer versions (even the latest 2023) don't render them at all and don't output any errors.
I would be very happy, If you could fix that.
Thank you in advance!

It's working OK for me. Do you have a sample scene you could send me please that shows this issue? Are you sure it's not due to having an Object Layer node in the proxy ORBX file?
Thanks
Paul
