Anybody know why the Material DB loads like we're in 1994?

Is it downloading or rerendering material previews for every thumbnail every time I open the material DB? I'm on a 1000mbit connection and have the fastest workstation money can buy...why does it feel like Otoy is wasting my time here?

It is caching the previews once of time and doesnt repeat it for next time. This is expected behavior

On my system, it caches every time, just closing and reopening the DB window will cause the caching to start over. Plus the previews are horrible.
I hate using DB but put up with it because I can share materials between different host apps.

Hi,
have you tried to save your materials in LocalDB instead?

Mac users haven't had the Material DB in 3 generations of apple silicon. I'm jealous.
