I'm trying to find information about the purple Custom Value nodes. I've looked through and through in the manual and that whole section seems to be missing.
Tried to use these nodes but they don't seem to be able to plug into *anything*. A complete mystery to a fool like me.

Anyone can shed some light or direct me to some info about these? Thanks!

Looking at these nodes in Octane Standalone, they either set values; function as converters; function as operators; or offer some utility function. There are no input pins for many the nodes in this category. The function of these nodes can be easily determined by their names.

So that's what I would imagine, however, they just don't plug into any other nodes.
Most of these exist in their blue form as "Custom Textures" (Different float nodes, Range, Binary/Unary etc), and I can definitely understand and actually am able to use the Custom Textures nodes. But the purple Custom Value nodes literally won't allow me to plug them anywhere, which is why I'm confused.

It's a whole set of nodes that doesn't want to fit anywhere, and all I'm wondering is, where do they belong? Why do they exist?

Again, my question is about the purple Custom Value nodes, not the blue Custom Texture nodes

I was curious about them too and I thought that they are purple because they need some mystical skills to use them in node network. Definitely they need some undiscovered yet inputs to work.

My reply was to your specific question about those specific nodes. Currently, it would seem that these nodes are not yet fully supported within the plugin. Ignore for now.
