Hi,
Could it be possible to have "not seen by camera" objects not seen in the "render layer id" pass ?
Cheers

Hello HHbomb,
I believe I did not understand the question: an object is still not visible in passes if it is not visible in the camera.

Hi HHbomb,
Isn't "renderable" in Octane properties sufficient for you?

Hi, Paride.
If I don't want to render an object I don't put it in the scene ! ;-)
One example :
I have a tree in front a house, I want to have its shadow, its reflection in the glass windows,... but I dont't want to see it ( I'll replace later in Photoshop by a real tree )
But if I want to render a Render layer pass ID to create a mask for the house brick wall, I get the tree which ruin my mask.

Hi Paride !
Thanks to point that, but why visibility mode "Hide inactive layers" don't work with layers ? :?:
Object id should be used for other purposes.

Hi,
It was an on-the-fly trick, thinking of your example about the tree. Could you tell me which workflow you would like to use?

Hi Paride.
I just like to use like it should : "unseen by camera" objects are unseen by camera. So in passes too...
Unless there is a good reason to be. :?:
Render layer ID is the only one renderpass where the unseen object is visible.

HHbomb,
I still think I don't understand what you mean, when the object is not visible in the camera in the beauty layer, all the layers are consistent with it.
Anyway, my previous screenshot was incorrect; I had forgotten to check "invert"!
