Applying composite texture to displacement

Hi guys,

I'm trying to do something, and I think it's the correct procedure, but I can't get it to work. I've created a composite texture of a background texture, and then I want a different texture applied as a displacement, so I've made that material #2, and then masked it out using the same image that I'm using for the displacement.

IT's all working perfectly EXCEPT, the texture I've applied to the displacement is only applying to the top of the displaced part, not the sides.

Here's what I mean:

As you can see, the sides of the text have the white texture, but I want them to have the gold texture.

Any idea how I go about this?

Thanks!

Anyone able to help with this? I don't really have anywhere else I can get info, and as usual, the documentation is pretty much useless.

Your comment about the documentation aside, based upon your description of the method you are using, you would need to expand the method you are using to apply the top texture to the object so that covers the sides of the displacement result. Think of it as expanding a mask in After Effects.

Sorry, I don't understand, it's just a composite material with one layer being masked by the displacement texture.

Please send in your file to [email protected] so I can take a look. Use File > Save Project with Assets... archive that result and send it in.
