Hello everyone!
I'm trying to do an Octane scatter ( vertex Type ) on a point cloud generated in Houdini and export as alembic.
Till few versions ago we didn't have any problems but with the new version all the viewport freeze as soon as i load the alembic in the "surface" palette in the Octane scatter as you can see from the screenshot in the attachment.
is there a way to solve this ?

Thank you so much for your reply

Hi Andrea,
try to use this alternative setup.
Merge the Alembic file and set the Points As Particle Geometry, insted of As Polygon Object.

Then go to menu Simulation/Thinking Particles/TP Settings and drag and drop the All Particle Groups in the Object source of a MoGraph Cloner, in Multi Instance mode:

Ciao Beppe!

Good news and bad news:

GOOD - Use it with the c4d cloner works! :)
BAD - but it's a lot way heavier then the octane scatter :(

I will try to make it llighter.

Thank you so much for the help!

It should work if you're using 2022.1.1-R4. Send me abc file if it's still not working.

You need C4D 2023.2 or greater, please go to your MyMaxon/Downloads page and download and install the update.
