Bumpmap/Normalmap higher values as "1"

I think it would improve material creation and tweaking workflow if I could use a bumpmap with higher values as "1". At the moment I have to use photoshop for this which is time cnsuming sometimes.
Or maybe there is already a node setup how it can be raised?

Sometimes a value of 0.1 is to much and a value at 1 will give you messy results.
Your problem can be, that your map is not normalized.

Its not a problem. Its more like a nice to have with the freedom of values.

I have the feeling that the bump strenght got raised during the last betas.
I find the values usualy very strong so that I have to shrink them down to .1 or so.
Does the problem appear with normalized maps, like face indicated?

I don't have a problem at the moment but I just want to ask if it would be possible with a node or so.
I think most times I tone down the bumpmap if I think about my material creations.
