nice! maybe add a bit texture to the wooden parts of the table? seems too specular at the moment.. making that table look 3d-yish... :)

This is great, is this directlighting with the new diffuse indirect light option ?
Can you tell us the rendertime and GPU(s) used ?
Is it much faster than pathtracing/pmc for this scene ?

Thanks,
Terrence

I played a lot with this new indirect diffuse mode too and its very fast compared to pathtracing or PMC. Plus it delivers good results where most clients are very pleased with.

for the image aboove I would maybe change the filter a bit to get better AA?

yes, direct light with diffuse default setting.
i used one gtx 470, rendertime was about 2 hr for 20000 sample at 1024x768 pixel
direct light is about 2x faster than pmc in my scene

Thanks

20.000 samples ?
that's huge... isn't it overkill ?
did the image look finished after say 5000 or so ?

Looks great overall, I would double the rez or more and scale it, because there is some aliasing going on there.

I would really like to get an AA solution into Octane at some point, however the edge bluring is sufficient for the time being as there are more important things to work on obviously :)

The image above has low resolution but with high resolution the aliasing remains, i dont know with scaling.
I'm agree with AA function for octane
