How to use correctly denoiser

I'm using an external app to denoise my renders so I didn't ever use the Octane denoiser. Now I would like to undestand the steps to use it in Octane. I've seen some tutorials but I am a bit confused. Some tutorials say that it's enough to activate the "Spectral AI denoiser" in the Camera tag-->Camera Imager, other tutorials say that it needs to activate "Use denoised beaty pass" in the rendering engine too. Others say to activate "Static noise" in the kernel. Which are in a few words the right use to denoise the render into Octane? Thanks for the help

In Camera Imager tab, then Denoiser Tab, "Enabling Denoising" is what makes Octane kick the desnoiser in.
Activating "Use Denoised Beauty Pass" simply tells octane to generate a separate image pass for the Denoised image. Then you can mix it with the non-denoised image in post to your liking. This has to do with exporting AOVs so if you're not familiar, read about it it's a separate topic.
Activating Static Noise simply tells Octane to generate a noise that doesn't "dance" around in each frame. So the noise you'll end up getting will literally be the same noise in every frame. If you deactivate Static Noise, the noise pattern in each frame will be different so the noise will be like that TV static that constantly buzzes and shifts around. I usually activate Static noise becasue it makes the noise less aggressive, but you should try it on and off to see what you like better.

But manual says that Static Noise should be turned off for denoiser...

To see denoised images in the live view, open the octane settings, go to the camera imager tab, then the denoiser tab, then activate Enable Desnoising. The live view window will now have a "DeMain" tab you can click to toggle between the standard noisy render and the denoised one
To get denoised final renders, it depends if you're using the standard c4d save page or the octane AOV save page. With the standard c4d page, go to the main octane render settings and tick "use denoised beauty pass". This doesnt generate any extra layers or passes, it simply means to save out a denoised image. If using the octane AOV save page there is a separate "denoised beauty" checkbox on the "Render AOV Group" tab.
Note that you do not need to enable live view denoising to get a denoised final render, however it will respect the "blend" setting to balance between original noise and denoised
As for static noise. It only makes a difference for animations, and I recommend you DO enable it. If you leave the noise moving, then the denoised splotches also start moving around. Denoised images with static noise hold the 'blobs' of shading still and generally gives a better finish. I would suggest you then add some light artificial noise back over the top with something like the Maxon redgiant ReNoiser AE plugin.

Thanks a lot for the detailed info. Normally I use the standard C4D save page and I use rarely AOVs (the old render passes) so, if I undestand well, it needs to tick "use denoised beauty pass" to get the final denoised render. Well thanks again
