OctaneRender 2022 for ArchiCAD [OBSOLETE]

This is the recommended thread for downloading, and posting any questions, suggestions or support queries for OctaneRender for ArchiCAD TEST and STABLE releases.

SOLUTIONS TO COMMON ISSUES

1) Make sure your NVIDIA drivers are up to date.

2) How do I extract the ArchiCAD 23 (or 24, 25 or 26) textures from the ArchiCAD 23 Library - 'File'->'Libraries and Objects'->'Extract a Container'. Select C:\Program Files\GRAPHISOFT\ARCHICAD 23\ARCHICAD Library 23\Surface Catalog 23.lcf to extract to Documents\AC23SurfaceCatalog. Then add the library to the Library Manager.

ArchiCAD Version
This version of the plugin runs on ArchiCAD 24, 25 and 26 - 64 bit Windows (7, 8, 10 and 11).

To use this version, you need a GPU of compute model 3.0 or higher. Support for Fermi GPUs (like GTX 4xx and 5xx) has been dropped. Also make sure you use a driver of version 451 or higher.

Is there a macOS version of the plugin? - at this point in time there is no macOS version of the plugin. Given the large amount of effort it would take to migrated the plugin to macOS, and the small potential audience for the macOS plugin, I do not think there will be a macOS version in the foreseeable future.

Network Rendering
For Network Rendering, you must use the Octane slave release from the Octane Standalone installer which matches the exact Octane version of the plugin you are using..

Support Issues
If you have a support issue, pls provide the following information:
- Operating System (ie. Win XP, Vista, 7, 8)
- 32 or 64 bit
- Amount of RAM
- Graphics Card(s) - model (ie. GTX 580, 3GB)
- Nvidia driver version
- ArchiCAD version (ArchiCAD -> Help -> License Information -> Version and Build Number
- OctaneRender for ArchiCAD version (ie. 1.02a)
- In the unlikely event of a crash, pls provide the dump report from the C:\Users\[username]\Graphisoft\BugReporting-[version] folder (on Win 7). Either post or email (to "paul at physicalc-software.com") the "ArchiCAD-XXXXXX-FATAL.RPT" file from this folder.

Once you save a .pla/.pln scene with the Octane 2022.1 version of the plugin, you may no longer be able to open the OctaneRender plugin with that scene loaded in ArchiCAD with a plugin compiled with an earlier version of Octane, so please keep separate copies of your scenes for Octane 2021.1 and Octane 2022.1.

Hi Paul,

have been playing around with it for a bit and no issues I've observed so far thanks.
The new Octane Daylight environment produces very nice lighting, will hopefully reduce our reliance on rendering with HDRi environments and with faster results too!

Life should be a bit easier for you now with just the one subscription type to compile plugins for!

Cheers, Dan.

I have updated the installers at the top of this thread with:

2022.1.0.114
- Compiled with Octane 2022.1

As per Dan's comment above - there is no longer an Enterprise version - use the Studio+ installer instead.

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

thanks for that.

I can download the AC24 and 25 installers, however the link to the AC26 installer has an issue and reports the file is missing?

Cheers, Dan.

Hi Paul,

Not sure if this is a right place to write, but it doesn't make sense to make a new topic. It seems I can't find the Render AOV z-depth inside the plugin.

Thanks,
Yllar
