Octane Scatter performance in the viewport

I have been running into some performance issues with Octane Scatter, when the numbers of clones is above 1 million the viewport becomes really sluggish (1.5 fps in the viewport), the only solution is to drop the number in the display rate, which is causing some effector refresh issues (i have to go forward 1 frame to see the effectors effects being applied to Octane Scatter).
What are your go-to workflow for Octane Scatter?
