1. 2 or 3 times now installing the new plugin has broken my Octane config (my own config) - i don't think anything has changed so for future reference is there something i need to do to not have to remake the layout?
Unfortunately the Modo*.CFG file needs to be recreated if old Octane plugin info has been saved to it. You can save your own layout in a separate plugin - I have provided a rough guide to doing this at viewtopic.php?f=34&t=80373&p=415246
2. i tried to export some Octane materials from MODO to use in Archicad but neither of the formats available when exporting seem to work. Depending on which database i choose AC either asks for a .ocm file or a .orbx file. AFAICT i can't export .ocm from MODO and the .orbx that i exported gives this error message when i try to import into the AC scene
Open the ORBX file in Octane Standalone, and plug the Material node into a Material Out node, so the ArchiCAD plugin knows which material node it use.

Thanks

understood. actually last time this happened i created am Octane free config to use with future releases so i would only have to make the new Octane layout, but i completely forgot i had it so i just remade all of them :P

will look into your post for next time

looks like the material is already plugged into a Material Out node, but still get the same error in AC

How are you importing the material into ArchiCAD please?

Hi - I am in the middle of some major changes to the plugin, so I think the next release will be with Octane 2022.1 RC2.

Thanks

I have updated the installers at the top of this thread with:

2022.1.0.189
- Compiled with Octane 2022.1
- Incorporated the Octane 2022.1 RC 2, 3 and 4 changes into the plugin
- Fixed issue where the spotlights were not refreshing when the Modo Spotlight Intensity was updated
- Fixed incorrect labels for Render Passes, Normal (smooth) and (shading)
- Fixed issue which caused a lockup when clicking on the Modo Render window when mpath is rendering
- Texture layers in the Shader Tree are now ignored if Enabled is ON but Render is OFF
- Fixed a number of minor issues with importing materials from the local and live db's

Thanks

Paul

Paul, I am aware that you probably do not support 16.1 Beta yet, but just as a heads up. Octane crashes Modo16.1 Beta on startup, on Linux.

On a Linux, I am not getting options for texture repeating. Modo 16.0v3 and latest Octane. Tried reseting preferences too.
