hi i am trying to test octane and cant install the demo

1. i tried installing standalone first (i get the cudnn_8_0_4 error)
2. then i installed the demo (as admin)
3. i get the cudnn_8_0_4 error, and when i download this with the button it just crashes and when i try to manually install in C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local - there is no OTOY folder into which to create the third part folder

I have done this a few times now, same result.

Where IS this OTY folder? its not anywhere ?

Anu ideas? Its extermely frustrating coming from vray / RS that both have working installers. Please advise?

Can someone please help here? I want to try this and buy licenses but this issue is a no starter for me.
Whats the issue with support here ? I am willing to pay here.

Hi nic_h,
Download the cuDNN library following this link:
https://render.otoy.com/downloads/ef/08 ... _4_win.zip
Then unzip it in C:\Users<user name>\AppData\Local\OctaneRender\thirdparty\cudnn_8_0_4\" (creating the missing folders) so all octane builds (standalone and plugins) can load it.

Can you try downloading the latest max demo from this thread: viewtopic.php?f=80&t=79564

There was a core issue in older demos (fixed in 2021.1.1+), which prevented the cuDNN libraries from downloading correctly on systems that never had Octane previously installed.
