will Kepler cards still work?

Pretty sure answer is no but will Kepler cards (770 & 780 ti) still work with current Octane versions? I trying to see if I can repurpose older equipment in another slave box before getting rid of it.

Hi,
the best way is to run OctaneBench 2020.1.5:
https://render.otoy.com/downloads/a/61/ ... _5_win.zip

GTX 770 scores ~34, so not the best:
https://render.otoy.com/octanebench/sum ... 0GTX%20770

GTX 780Ti scores ~103, so not too bad:

ciao,
Beppe

Sorry, my fault, this is not correct :(
Normally Nvidia removes a complete GPU family, at CUDA major updates, like with Fermi GPUs in the past.
But with Kepler GPUs is different, not all the Kepler GPUs are supported in the latest CUDA update, only compute model 3.5 or greater.
Unfortunately GTX 770 is compute model 3.0, so it is not supported in OctaneRender® version 2021.1 or greater.
GTX 780Ti is compute model 3.5 so it is supported.

Since OctaneBench is at version 2020.1.5 at the moment, better to try with latest Standalone Demo to check GPUs compatibility for now.

Here is the link to the latest Standalone Demo version for now:
OctaneRender Demo 2021.1.2 Standalone for Windows (installer)

ciao,
Beppe

Thanks bepeg4d. From the Octane Bench you sited sounds like the 770 wasn't worth trying to use anyways. Still working on my new build so haven't tested the old 780 ti with new Octane yet.
